Welcome to Southside Soccer League (SSL) — a growing youth soccer program serving families in South Calgary with accessible, community-focused, and development-driven training.
At SSL, we believe every child deserves the chance to play, grow, and succeed in soccer. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where players of all skill levels can develop confidence, teamwork, and strong technical ability.
What Makes Us Different
Community-Based & Convenient
All our training sessions take place in South Calgary school gymnasiums and fields, reducing long commutes for parents and players.

Our programs are led by dedicated and trained coaches. We focus on player development, discipline, teamwork, and skill-building in a fun and encouraging environment.

House League Program (Academy Style)
Designed for players who want strong development, consistency, and a positive environment without the pressure of competitive travel.
Competitive Pathway – CMSA Teams
Southside Soccer League now participates in the Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) through partnered and independent teams.
CMSA is the official governing body of youth soccer in Calgary, organizing league competition for thousands of players across the city.
This pathway gives motivated players the opportunity to compete at a higher level within the official Calgary soccer system.
Our Vision
We aim to open doors for young athletes by providing:
- A clear development pathway from recreational to competitive soccer
- Fair and equal opportunity for all players — no tryouts required for House League
- Proper placement by skill level during the first week of training
- Accessibility for all families, including support through Kidsport for those who qualify
